If you can already hold simple conversations about yourself, your family, and your interests, if you understand instructions when spoken slowly and clearly, and if you can write short messages or complete forms using basic vocabulary, then you already have a solid A1 level. Your next step is A2.

At this stage, we focus on the A2 content of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), using the book Aula Internacional 2 as our main resource.  Besides each lesson is complemented with additional materials created by our teachers, carefully designed to reinforce and practice everything you learn.

As with all our levels, we divide A2 into several courses. This gives you plenty of time to fully absorb and practice new skills, ensuring that you feel confident using Spanish in real-life situations.

The A2 level is divided into three courses:

A2.1 – (New paths) covers Units 1 to 4 of Aula Internacional 2.
A2.2 – (Beyond words) covers Units 5 to 8 of Aula Internacional 2.
A2.3 – (The journey continues) covers Units 9 and 10, plus a review of the entire level.

In our courses

In our classes, you’ll enjoy dynamic online lessons led by a native teacher in small groups. This format allows us to offer personalized attention, plenty of speaking opportunities and instant feedback.

For class materials, you’ll need the book AULA Internacional 2, a resource endorsed by the Instituto Cervantes and used in all our A2 courses: A2.1, A2.2, and A2.3. In addition, our teachers provide extra materials and share supplementary resources to help you practice and improve your Spanish.

As a student at El Camino, you’ll also have access to El Café, our optional weekly conversation class. It’s a relaxed space where you can practice speaking, meet other classmates and teachers, and immerse yourself in a specific topic, improving your Spanish while learning new vocabulary and expressions prepared by the teacher. Each week features a new topic, allowing you to explore different subjects and enhance your Spanish in a practical and enjoyable way.

This means that, in addition to the 24 hours of the main course, you’ll have the opportunity to add one extra hour of conversation each week at no extra cost—12 additional hours in total! 

At an A2 level, you’ll be able to handle everyday situations with great confidence. For example, in a restaurant you’ll be able to order using full sentences, ask questions about the menu, express your preferences or dietary restrictions, and even comment on how the food tasted. When watching a movie, you’ll understand the main storyline, especially in simpler films like animations, recognize familiar words and expressions, and share your opinions clearly and easily. You’ll also be able to write simple emails: to request information, make a reservation, or thank someone, using clear sentences along with appropriate greetings and closings.

These are just a few examples, but the key takeaway is that by the end of A2 you’ll feel ready to communicate naturally and confidently in a wide range of everyday situations.

After this level, you’ll reach a solid elementary level in Spanish. You’ll feel confident communicating in daily life, making yourself understood, and understanding others with ease. Additionally, you’ll be fully prepared to take the next step and progress to B1, continuing your journey toward more fluent and natural Spanish.
